Two important, yet distinct types of customers drive your revenue. The key to growth is to maintain a consistent, integrated and automated marketing funnel for each of these two key customer segments:

  • New Customers
  • Existing Customers

An integrated marketing approach makes sure that each of these groups receives the right kind of messaging, at the right stage. For example, new customers may find your website via Google Ads and existing customers through a link in your email newsletter - all landing in the same place, by hearing your message in different ways.

Ask yourself these KEY QUESTIONS to determine if you’re taking full advantage of these audiences.

NEW CUSTOMERS

  1. How do you attract new customers?
  2. If a customer found your business online, would they have a clear path to converting into a sale?
  3. Is your website attention grabbing and does it convey your mission clearly?

BOTTOM LINE: New customers view your online presence as a first impression of your business. It is crucial to be current in online marketing best practices.

RETURN CUSTOMERS

  1. What are you doing to stay in front of existing or lapsed customers?
  2. Do you have a system for collecting valuable marketing information from your customers?
  3. How can you encourage customers to return to your business?

BOTTOM LINE: It is significantly less costly to retain a customer than it is to obtain a new one. A crucial target audience is those you're already working with.
